Viviane Houle is a performer, voice teacher and Integrative Voicework practitioner. She has performed in a wide range of genres and contexts including Vancouver Opera, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, and Vancouver New Music. She has lived in Roberts Creek for eight years and has been teaching voice and offering Integrative Voicework therapy from her private music studio on the Sunshine Coast since 2005.
In facilitating workshops, Viviane draws on her experience as a professional singer and expressive arts therapist, as well as her studies with Richard Armstrong (Banff Centre for the performing Arts), Pauline Oliveros (Deep Listening) and Phil Minton (Feral Choir).
Viviane has taught voice workshops for VISI (Vancouver International Song Institute), the NOW Orchestra, machinenoisy Dance Society, Simon Fraser University, Groundswell (Manitoba), the University of Manitoba, iSaW Theatre Company, Story Theatre (Driftwood Players), Laboratorio, VOXY, Mascall Dance Company, as well as her own SoundOut vocal series.
