The Arts Building sponsors art classes and workshops in the large main space. It can also be rented for private events at other times according to availability and a 70 person maximum limit. There are two different fee structures for the two types of events.
Fee Structure for Sponsored Classes
The Arts Building welcomes local arts instructors to teach courses and workshops. Payment is based on a 70/30% ratio for all instructors. More information is available to potential instructors upon request.
Fee Structure for Private Events
The Arts Building is available for rent at the rate of $15 per hour for private events with the minimum number of hours to be 3 hours. (If your event is 2 hours, it would still be a fee of $45.)
Your event will be listed on the calendar as a Private Event and you are responsible for all related publicity.
In addition to the hourly fee, we require a $50 security deposit. If the Arts Building is left as clean as it was found- dishes put away, swept, mopped, as well as heat and lights switched off – your deposit will be returned.
How to Make a Payment
Option 1: we send you a link to pay both together using Paypal and a credit card. If everything is back in place, the security deposit can then be refunded also by Paypal.
The other option is to write two cheques, one for the rental fee which we’d deposit to hold your booking. The $50 security deposit would be held until after the event and returned if everything is fine. Cheques are payable to the Arts Building Society. You can let us know which option you prefer.
